The Mason County Historical Society has asked the Mason County Commission for help in finding a new location for its museum which is currently located at the former Mason County Fairgrounds. The Port of Shelton has closed the fairgrounds property to non-aviation uses and the museum must be relocated. However, the Historical Society has not been successful in their search and need to move fast as a deadline to move off Port Property is looming. Tuesday, Annette McGee, made a pitch to the Commissioners:

The Commissioners were receptive to the concept and will discuss options with the County’s Facility Manager.
They also suggested the Historical Society get in touch with the Skookum Rotary Foundation as that organization is exploring building a new event center/fairgrounds.
