Ballots need to be returned to the Mason County Auditor’s Office no later than 8 PM August 5. Ballot drop boxes are located at the Mason County Offices, Building 1, 411 North Fifth Street in Shelton; at the John L. Scott Building, 23910 NE State Route 3 in Belfair; at the Hood Canal Visitor Center, 150 N Lake Cushman Road in Hoodsport; and at the Port of Allyn, 18560 E State Route 3 in Allyn. Drive-thru ballot boxes are located in the Kamilche area at Fire District 4’s Station, 3660 SE Old Olympic Highway and in Shelton at the Timberland Regional Library, 710 W Alder. The Auditor’s Office also has a special voting unit available to assist those with disabilities. That unit is in the County’s Building 1 and available weekdays from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM and from 8:30 AM to 8 PM Election Day. If mailing in your ballot, it must have a postmark no later than August 5. Election results will be release after 8 PM August 5. The two candidates with the most votes in the Primary will advance to the General Election.
