Mason County Forest Festival Under Way

forest fest 2014This week end is the 70th annual Mason County Forest Festival. There are all kinds of activities throughout the weekend including a carnival, car show, parade, Timbersports and fireworks. Here are some of the activities:

Paradise Amusements Carnival is open 12 PM to 11 PM Saturday and 12 PM to 6 PM Sunday
There are vendors and exhibitors at Loop Field from 10 AM to 4 PM Saturday

Family & Pets Parade starts at 10:30 AM Saturday on Railroad Avenue in downtown Shelton

The Paul Bunyan Parade follows at 11 AM Saturday on Railroad Avenue, downtown Shelton

The Mason County Forest Festival is hosting the STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® Western Regional Qualifier at 1 PM on Saturday at Loop Field. The top ranked TIMBERSPORTS® athletes in the Western United States will be chopping and sawing for a chance to advance to the STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® U.S. Championships, held in Norfolk, VA, June 20-22.

94.5 Roxy Family Fun Night Saturday from 7 PM to 10 PM in the parking lot of Our Community Credit Union on Olympic Highway North

Fireworks are scheduled at 10 PM Saturday at Oakland Bay Junior High Field which are visible from Wallace Kneeland Blvd

Mason County Forest Festival Car Show Off is Sunday from 10 AM to 3 PM on Olympic Highway North in the Mountainview area of Shelton.

Anna’s Bay Chorale is holding a concert at 3 PM Sunday at the Shelton High School Performing Arts Center, 3737 N. Shelton Springs Road. Ticket are $10.00. This concert is an afternoon of American Traditional music and featuring “The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass” by Carol Barnett. The final performance of the Anna’s Bay Chorale season is a joyful affirmation of life, blending rich choral sounds with the jubilant harmonies of bluegrass music. Local musicians join the chorale to present a variety of American music and this year’s concert will include the announcement of the first annual Cyndie Phelps Memorial Scholarship Fund recipients. Anna’s Bay mission is building community through music and we are pleased to be able to support the youth of Mason County through our scholarship program.
