Port Denies Legal Fee Reimbursement

The Port of Shelton Commission denied the reimbursement of legal fees to Commissioner Jack Miles on Tuesday.  Last month, Miles requested the attorney fees ($2,394.98) he incurred for bringing a harassment suit against Port Executive Director John Dobson be reimbursed under the same statutes that allows the Port to reimburse fees for an employee or commissioner in defense of a suit.  On April 5th, the Port Commission asked their attorney to research the issue which resulted in a four-page letter that explained there is not a provision for reimbursement to the person bringing a lawsuit but the Commission could do so if it so chose to.  However…
