SHS Baseball Heading to Regionals; Soccer Eliminated; Track Tops Narrows Meet

The Shelton baseball team finished 3rd in the West Central/Southwest District and is heading to the Regional Round of the State Tournament. The Highclimbers played two games Saturday, losing to Columbia River 10 to 2 in the semifinals then knocked off Bonney Lake 4 to 2 to place 3rd.

Shelton boys’ soccer team was eliminated from the West Central/Southwest District Tournament, losing to three-nil (3 to 0).

At the Narrows League Track and Field Championships, Shelton’s Lindsey Goldsby won the 800 meter run and finished 3rd in the 400 meter dash; Cody Williamson took the 3200 meter run and finished 2nd in the 1600 meter run; Lindsey Nicolas was 2nd in the 800 meter run and 2nd in the 3200 meter run; Colton Paller placed 1st in the discus throw; Elizabeth Brandenburg placed 2nd int he shot put; Jonathon Bay finished 2nd in the 800 meter run and 4th in the 1600 meter run; Courtney Burke was 3rd in the 3200 meter run and finished 7th in the 800 meter run; Anika Parker was 3rd in the 800 meter run; Natalie Andrewski place 3rd in the 200 meter dash; Blethany Howe finished 5th in the 300 the meter hurdels; Darius Burke was 5th in the 1600 meter run; Carisa Kunkle was 6th in the high jump; Rhett Peters was 6th in the 300 meter hurdels; Madison Striplin was 7th in the 200 meter dash; Colton Hubble was 7th in the 200 meter dash; and Rian Wakeling placed 7th inthe 300 meter hurdels. The Highclimber girls’ relay team of Ella Pinter, Madison Striplin, Lindsey Goldsby and Lindsey Nicolas placed 3rd in the 4 x 200 while the relay team of Courtney Burke, Anika Parker, Lindsey Goldsby and Emily Frost was 3rd inthe 4 x 400. And the Shelton boys’ relay team of Jonathon Bay, Darius Burke, Colton Hubble and Sky Lenhoff finished 3rd in the 4 x 400.
