Wind Advisory & Flood Warning In Effect

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory and a flood warning. The wind advisory is in effect until midnight tonight. Forecasters expect south wind 20 to 35 MPH with gusts of 50 to 55 MPH to continue. Wind this strong can snap small tree branches, topple small or shallow rooted trees, and cause local power outages. The flood warning is for the Skokomish River as more heavy rain is expected in the Olympic Mountains through tonight. This rainfall will cause the Skokomish to begin to rise this evening and the River is expected to reach the 16.5-foot flood stage late tonight. The Skokomish River will remain high through mid week.
