An erratic driver on Highway 3 crashed into another vehicle north of Shelton Friday morning, closing the Highway for nearly three hours. The State Patrol reports that the erratically driven 2001 Chevrolet Metro was southbound on Highway 3 about 10 AM. At milepost 3.5 which is just north of Oakland Bay Marina, the driver lost control of the Metro. The car spun clockwise into the northbound lane where it struck a northbound 1995 GMC pickup truck. The driver of the Chevy, Lisa R. Riveracuevas, 49 of Marysville, was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tacoma with undisclosed injuries. The driver of the pickup, Robert L. Pierce, 30 of Tumwater, was taken to Mason General Hospital with minor injuries. Cause of this crash is still under investigation.
