MMK Football Wins 1st Game; NM Soccer Loses
The Mary M. Knight 8-man football team held off a late rally by Lake Quinalt to win their first game of the season 42 to 38 Saturday. The Owls did it on the ground rushing for over 400 yards led by Brent Boley’s 292 yards and three touchdowns. MMK QB James Anderson scored two TDs. And Adam Pais had the sixth touchdown for the boys from Matlock. Mary M. Knight took advantage of five Elk turnovers in their first game. Knight’s next game is Saturday, October 5, 2013 at home against Oakville.
The North Mason girls’ soccer team lost at Sequim Saturday 3 to 2. No other details have been reported. The Bulldogs drop to 2-and-5 on the season. The girls from Belfair travel to North Kitsap on Thursday.
