Work continues on several projects on State Highways including Highway 3 through Shelton, U.S. Highway 101 through the Purdy Canyon, and on Highway 106 near Twanoh Falls but other work will also impact traffic in the coming week.
The project to improve Highway 3 from U.S. Highway 101 through Shelton continues with work around the clock. Daytime work (6 AM to 7 PM) will involve constructing sidewalks and ADA ramps at intersections. Night work (7 PM to 6 AM) will be used to resurface the roadway. Expect temporary lane closures with one-way, alternating traffic, and sidewalk/shoulder closures between milepost 0 and milepost 3.65 Monday through Thursday.
Work continues to reinforce an unstable hillside adjacent to U.S. Highway 101 in Purdy Canyon. This includes complete night closure of 101 between Brockdale Road and Highway 106 from 7 PM to 6 AM daily. There is a signed detour using Brockdale Road, McReavy Road, Dalby Rad and SR-106. That detour adds 10.5 miles to a trip. During the day, 6 AM to 7 PM, 101 will be reduced to a single lane with traffic controlled by a temporary signal.
A project to install a dewatering system and a 20-foot-wide culvert on Highway 106 continues at milepost 13.5. This work will cause one-way alternating traffic controlled by flaggers daily from 7 AM to 5 PM. Work on this project will increase after Labor Day.
On Highway 3 in Belfair, crews continue work to relocate a gas main in preparation for the widening project. Expect minor traffic delays with a southbound right shoulder closure from milepost 26.55 to milepost 26.86 daily between 7 AM and 5 PM (no work is scheduled on Labor Day.
On U.S. Highway 101 near Lilliwaup, crews are installing a water line at milepost 328. Shoulder closures are possible daily between 7 AM and 5:30 PM but no work is scheduled on Labor Day.
Please slow down and drive with caution in work zones.
